Suggested timeline to prepare for the big day!

Months Prior to

 

your event:

 

5 months before your event. 
Book your appointment with The Write Invite!

Come prepared with a rough estimate of the number of people attending your event, your colour scheme, together with some of your favourite invitations. Pintrest is great for this :)

 

It is best to start compiling your guest list as early as possible. Click on the guest list template below to download our excel sheet and get started!

 

At the first appointment we will design a customized invitation that best suits your event based on your colour scheme and your likes and dislikes of invitations from our catalogues. 

 

By the end of this appointment, your invitation order will be processed, and we will provide you with a printed estimate. For the special touch, we customize postage stamps to give the invitation that extra zaz!

4 months before your event.
Submit guest list for envelope addressing!

 

Now that you've had time to compile your guest list, email the final list to info@writeinvite.ca. We will process the list and print the addresses on each envelope.

 

Remember to send invitations to all members of the wedding party, and all parents should receive invitations!

 

For those guests that you are inviting with a "plus 1", it is proper to write "and guest" on the envelope. However, if you know the name of the guest, it is thoughtful to include their name on the invitation.

 
 
2.5 months before your event.
Pick up invitations and stuff envelopes!

 

Your invitations have arrived! It is now time for you to pick up the invitations and addressed envelopes! Here's what to do before sending them out!

 

1. Lightly mark back of RSVP card with the number corresponding to the guest list. This way if people forget to put their name on the reply card, you'll know who's coming!

 

2. Remember to place the postage stamps on all reply cards

 

3. You can now stuff (for lack of a better word) - gently place the invitations into the envelopes.

 
2 months before your event.
Mail out invitations

 

It's now time to mail out those invites!! Remember to use the post office rather than a street mailbox. This will ensure careful handling by the postal service to prevent bending before it is received by your guests.

 

Get prepared for tons of compliments ;)

 

At this time, you may want to consider ordering place cards, menus, event programs, and other accessories like napkins and kippas!

 

 
2-4 weeks before your event.
Guest list and table numbers

 

All the replies are in. The numbers are finalized. Time to make your seating arrangements for the event and print your place cards. Using your guests' reply cards is a great way to visualize table setups. Download link below to complete your seating arrangement template to have all names ready for print.
